BACKGROUND

FINALLY A pH CONTROLLER WITH AN ALARM INCLUDED – not just an “output” that needs electronics work to make it function, but ready out of the box.

For something as important as wastewater compliance, having an alarm to let you know when the pH is out-of-range is critical!  It has mystified me for years why are there no pH controllers that include an alarm.  

pH CONTROLLER DESCRIPTION

The pH controller alarm points (high and low) are separate from the pH control points used to activate an acid and a caustic pump.  When the alarm sounds, its easy to silence with the front button. The buzzer will sound again in 30 minutes if the condition is not corrected. (in the default behavior is selected)  

The yellow stack light illuminates when either pump is active.

Buttons on the side of the enclosure will activate the pumps manually.

Rugged industrial pH probe included.

Installation consists of these steps:

  1. Mount the enclosure.
  2. Set desired alarm and control points.
  3. Plug your pumps into the dangling pigtail outlets.
  4. Calibrate.

SETTING THE ALARM POINTS

As an example, you might want the pH range might be set to 6.0–8.0.  In this case, the acid  pump would make additions when pH reaches 8.0. The acid pump will stop pumping when it reaches the hysteresis you set, lets say, 0.2 pH units. (so the acid pump will stop pumping when the pH is reduced to pH 7.8 in this example)

The high pH alarm point could be set to any value, but in this example a value of 9.0 might make sense.  Again there is a Hysteresis that can be added to the alarm point so the pH alarm could stop at any value you want less than pH 9.0
