Unlike many suppliers who only sell the controller, Gizmo Engineering includes the thermowell and mounting hardware so the complete temperature alarm system is ready to install. This is so important that we include it with every temperature product.

FIRST ALARM EXEMPTION
When an alarm sounds on the temperature controller, it is conveniently silenced by using the front push button. If the temperature is still out of range 30 minutes later, the buzzer will sound again. (this is the default behavior which can be easily changed). For tanks with long heat-up times where you don’t want to silence every 30 minutes there is a “first alarm exemption” which will ignore the fact that the tank is cold. When the tank temperature climbs into range, then the unit is “set” and will produce an alarm if the temperature ever strays out of the set temperature limits.

The TC1 Temperature Controller Alarm is a compact, industrial-grade temperature monitoring system with a digital display and built‑in high/low alarm for process tanks and harsh environments. It delivers precise temperature control, loud audible alerts, and simple front‑panel operation in a waterproof enclosure.
This stand‑alone temperature alarm is ideal for plating tanks, chemical process tanks, washdown areas, and any application where reliable over‑temperature and under‑temperature protection is critical.
Key Temperature Alarm Features
The TC1 combines temperature control, local indication, and alarm functions in one compact 6 x 6 x 4 inch enclosure.
- 6 x 6 inch compact enclosure saves panel space and simplifies mounting.
- Loud buzzer has a 103 dB warbling tome which ensures alarms are heard in noisy plant environments.
- Waterproof IP65 (NEMA 4X) housing for washdown and corrosive environments.
- Silence button on the front‑panel – no need to navigate controller submenus to mute the alarm.
- Snooze alarm built-in (30 minutes by default) automatically re‑alarms if temperature is still out of range.
- Optional “first alarm exemption” ignores initial cold‑tank condition during heat‑up.
- 4–20 mA output included for remote monitoring or control.
- Many thermocouple lengths available up to 60 ft are in stock for flexible installation.
- Can be configured to accept a level probe for low liquid level alarms in the same tank.
Why Use a Dedicated Temperature Alarm Box?
Most plating temperature controllers offer an alarm output, but many facilities never complete the wiring to a buzzer, light, and convenient mute button. Operators are often forced to dig through submenus to silence alarms, and systems may not reset properly when conditions return to normal.
The TC1 eliminates these problems by providing:
- A complete, pre‑engineered temperature alarm system in a corrosion‑resistant box.
- Integrated buzzer, beacon LED, and front‑panel silence button with automatic reset logic.
- Factory‑configured parameters so you only set your temperature limits and install the sensor.

Simple Temperature Alarm Setup
The TC1 temperature alarm ships pre‑configured so setup is fast and straightforward.
To install and commission the unit:
- Mount the enclosure on the wall or suitable surface near the tank.
- Install the included thermowell in the process tank.
- Insert and secure the thermocouple through the PVDF cord grip.
- Power the unit and set your desired high and low temperature limits.
Default alarm limits are preset to 70–80 ºF so you can bench‑test the alarm immediately without programming.
Industrial Temperature Sensor Options
Each TC1 includes a rugged type K thermocouple designed for harsh chemical and industrial service.
- Type K thermocouple armored with braided stainless steel.
- Full‑length PFA outer sleeve for excellent chemical resistance.
If your application requires a different sensor type, the plating temperature control module can accepts many different sensor inputs. This makes the TC‑1 suitable for a wide range of temperature monitoring and control applications.
Alarm Operation and Logic
The temperature controller is designed for clear, repeatable alarm behavior on the plant floor.
- When temperature goes outside your high/low limits, the buzzer sounds and the LED beacon flashes.
- Pressing the front pushbutton silences the buzzer while leaving the LED flashing as a visual warning.
- If temperature is still out of range after 30 minutes, the snooze function re‑activates the buzzer (default setting; easily changed).
- “First alarm exemption” mode is available for tanks with long heat‑up times, ignoring low‑temperature alarms until the tank has first reached the acceptable range.
Once the tank enters the set temperature band, the unit is “armed” and will alarm any time temperature drifts outside the programmed limits.

The stainless steel thermocouple probe is sheathed with a PTFE jacket. Thermocouple jacket is armored with braided SS.
Optional float switch is PP material in a PP pipe, protected by a float guard. Float cable has a durable PVC jacket.
Enclosure is suitable for washdown duty. Just make sure the USB cap is on securely. The USB socket is a replaceable part.

Optional float switch assembly (PP float in PP pipe with float guard and PVC‑jacketed cable) allow the TC1 to monitor low liquid level alongside temperature, adding an extra layer of process protection.
