When our customers ask for something special we strive to provide it. This is how many of our standard products were born. Each image below can be clicked to zoom.
DRUM ALARMS FOR USE WITH PLC
This customer wanted drumalarms without the electronics enclosure – just a connection to their PLC. The feed pipe is the same as our standard units but the electronics enclosure is eliminated which provides only a contact close (or open) from the reversible float switch.

DRUM ALARM WITH NARROW SUCTION PIPE
Thi drum alarm has a ¼ inch suction pipe with the customer’s specified foot valve. Pipes are joined with polypropylene block, welded in place.

BOTTLE ALARM WITH NARROW FLOAT
This is the smallest diameter float switch we have made. It measure only 14.80 mm [0.58 inch] to fit into a very narrow opening. This one has a sealed mount for service in a pressurized vessel.
PVC pipe and threaded mount with polypropylene float switch.

THREE INDEPENDENT SUCTION PIPES
In the past we have split the output from a single ¾” pipe into 3 different pumps. (see the manifold drum alarm) However in this case the pumps are larger diaphragm pumps that created such a high suction force that pumps could starve each other and change the flowrate. Therefore the solution was to separate the suction lines so each pump had its own pipe. Because the drum bung diameter is limited, the maximum pipe size was ½”. Each pipe has a check valve inside.

DRUMALARM FOR 5 GALLON CONTAINERS
5 Gallon containers tend to vary in depth and bung opening size so its often necessary to customize the dimensions. This one picture has a “working depth” of 370 mm from the bottom of hte gray cap to the bottom tip of the pipes. The suction pipe is a smaller ½ inch pipe (rather than our usualy ¾” size)
Model shown is DLA-PF-05G
DRUMALARM WITH MANIFOLD for feeding multiple processes from the same drum.
This particular unit in the picture is equipped with a check valve at the button of the suction pipe so priming shouldn’t be necessary. Nevertheless, there is a threaded plug at the top for conveniently priming pumps if necessary.
DRUMALARM WITH AUTOMATIC TEFLON VALVE…
is controlled by the level. When the level gets low in the drum, the level is automatically shut off. This is an extremely low power valve designed to emit a very low heat output made by NACOM Valves. This valve was selected for use in a non-hazardous area but nonetheless had some flammable solvents.
Also has a battery backup so an alarm is given even during a power failure.

SCREENED FLOAT GUARD keeps debris away from the float. This guard allows level alarms to be used with surpisingly dirty liquids – like black water in port-a-potties. Even though large objects may press against the screen, the liquid will find its way to the float like groundwater flowing through soil.
DRUMALARM WITH A DOUBLE FLOAT provides two alarms: the upper float causes the LED and buzzer to pulse slowly. This alarm can be silenced. Then when the bottom float is triggered, a rapid beeping and flashing occurs to distinguish between the alarms. This provides an early warning to the operator to ready a new drum of chemicals.
