Most of our equipment with a relay output is capable of 15A load capacity. This will be suitable for a motor size of 1/2HP is a rule of thumb. a 1/2HP motor draws a nominal current of 9.8A, and if there is a startup current surge then our slow-blow 15A fuse will handle it without blowing.
So if your want to control a motor larger than 1/2HP, or with 3 phase power, then a motor starter is called for. We integrate the WEG brand because we like to standardize on parts that are widely available and reasonably priced.
