When our customers ask for a custom alarm box we strive to provide it. This is how many of our standard products were born.
CRASH BAR TILT ALARM…
This battery powered tilt switch alarm is mounted on a horizontal PVC pipe (used as a low height crash bar) meant to protect against forklifts running into a low hanging wall . If the crash bar pipe is bumped by a forklift, the alarm sounds for 10 seconds. (this time is selectable) Since the tilt switch alarm its mounted out-of-reach, battery replacement is inconvenient, and so we used a very low power circuit that allows the battery last for 10 years. (quiescent current is only 2µA !)

WIRELESS ALARM
This customer wanted an alarm box to indicate two things at the remote (receiver). Firstly, an indication if power was on at the transmitting end. Second, if there was an alarm condition at the transmitter. The alarms work independently.

CUSTOM ALARM WITH TWO ENCLOSURES…
The custom alarm for this customer senses the presence of two toxic gas levels. If gas is detected, then the appropriate stack lights illuminates – depending on the gas detected. Otherwise a green “OK” stack light is illuminated. When an alarm is given, it is accompanied by a buzzer. This buzzer can be silenced by pressing the button. In addition, there is also a power failure alarm if power fails to the unit that is powered by on-board battery. The “slave” enclosure is located in another room to make sure the alarm condition is annunciated widely.

CUSTOM ALARM BOX WITH SIREN BUZZER ACTIVATED BY MECHANICAL SWITCH…
This custom alarm is the loudest battery-powered sounder we know of. It is so loud, it is actually painful and damaging. For this application it was acceptable because it only activates because of criminal activity.
This custom alarm box is triggered when a mechanical switch changes position, which indicates a security breach. For this, we supplied an outdoor rated lever arm switch along with our “Siren” buzzer which reaches 111 dB at 2 ft. All components are built for rugged use and are waterproof.
The alarm annunciator can be switched off with a hidden toggle switch. We typically don’t prefer these but in this case it made sense.

CUSTOM ALARM BOX WITH METAL ENCLOSURE AND MICRO CONNECTORS…
A liquid level probe is attached to the enclosure with micro-connectors to fit through a small hole. These happen to be the smallest cable available.
In addition, this custom alarm also includes so custom behaviors. For example, the alarm box waits for 60 seconds before alarming to allow for cable disconnection. However, if there is a high liquid level condition on the same cable, then the alarm is immediate.
Furthermore, this is linked to a remote box 100 feet away which duplicates the same alarms. And finally, these boxes can be daisy-chained together to have the alarm sound at each alarm annunciator in the chain. Naturally, any of the chained alarms can silence or test the system.
