Leak detection senses only a few drop of liquid in containment tanks.
INSTALLATION
As with our float-switch based level controllers, installation involves just mounting the alarm on your tank and connecting the 9V battery. (or line power if applicable) Position the gold pins so they sense at the point you want. (generally right on the tank bottom) There is nothing to calibrate or adjust.
MAINTAINANCE
There is is nothing to wear out and no moving parts to limit the lifetime of a conductivity sensor.

The leak detection alarms can be made in any length of polypropylene pipe.
OVERVIEW
The leak detection alarm triggers an alarm when just a few drops of liquid make a conductive path between the conductivity pins. The pins are gold plated so they won’t corrode. And since the battery lasts for years, and give a low battery alert when the batteries do eventually run low, the alarm can be deployed and then forgotten. There is no maintenance.
WHY CONDUCTIVITY IS BEST
There are other ways to sense the presence of liquid of course, but nothing matches the precision of conductivity pins to detect a thin film of liquid. This matters because detecting early can give a warning weeks or months earlier than other methods of detection. Perfect for containment tanks where there should not be any liquid.
In addition, the conductivity sensor can be powered by battery – in fact the batteries last so long, there really isn’t any reason to use line power. This is a limitation of capacitance, ultrasonics, tuning fork, optical sensors among other methods.
