OVERFILLED TANK PROBLEM

Platers have been filling tanks with hoses since the beginning of the industry. And since that day, tanks have been getting overfilled onto the floor.  Nevertheless, garden hoses are still used to fill tanks today because they are quick, cheap, and convenient. Even on tanks with fully automatic level controls, hoses are still used for makeups, special formulations, and batch formulations. The overfilling problem is persistent because operators get bored and cannot be counted on to watch a hose fill. They will often find creative ways to prop the hose open so they can walk away – and hopefully come back before there is a flood on the floor. This resulting flood can range from merely inconvenient, to disastrous, depending on the amount, and the chemistry.

AUTOMATIC HOSE FILL

Finally, the problem of how to fill process tanks without overflowing has been solved!  The automatic hose filler, or AUTO HOZE FILLA® device attaches to any hose, and clamps it to the lip of a tank. Then it fills the tank with water, and when full, it shuts off the water automatically. In addition, there is even an overfill alarm included.

Three easy steps to use:

1. Clamp the AUTO HOZE FILLA ® to the tank lip.
2. Set the fill depth with the thumb knob.
3. Then, turn on the ball valve.

After that, the AUTO HOZE FILLA ® stops the water flow automatically when the level rises to the float level. 

In addition to preventing spills, operators will be more productive as they no longer have to be tied to watching a tank while it fills – the automatic hose filler does the work of watching the tanks for them.  

FEATURES

The polyethylene float is protected by a 304 stainless steel guard. 

Stainless steel wetted parts are suitable for D.I. water. (ball valve, and hose barb or threaded connector)

Rated for process tanks up to 200ºF.

The auto hose filler is economical as you only need one unit for each hose to fill all tanks within reach of the hose. 

The device installs in seconds, as it simply screws in your garden hose.  A sturdy PVC plate clamps to the lip of a tank securely so the flow from the hose can’t go anywhere but in the tank.

OPTIONS

The hose can be connected by either a hose barb, or threaded swivel connector with Garden Hose thread. The advantage of the hose barb is that operators cannot easily separate the AF4 from the hose, which guarantees that tanks can’t be overfilled.

We have made a special version of the Auto-Hoze Filler for tanks that pose extreme condensing conditions (and set off the emergency overfill alarm). The model AF4-FS substitutes a float switch instead of conductivity pins.
