OPERATION
The LC3 Level Controller will automatically operate your pump or solenoid to keep your tank filled, or empty. In tank-filling mode, when the liquid level drops to the bottom-most float switch, the controller turns on your pump to fill the tank. When the liquid level rises to reach the high level float, the LC3 shuts off your pump. The cycle repeats automatically as needed to properly maintain your liquid level.
EMERGENCY LEVEL ALARMS INCLUDED
If there is a problem that causes the liquid level to get out of the operating range then an extra “emergency” floats causes an alarm. This alarm is given with a flashing LED and loud warbling buzzer that can be heard through any industrial plant noise. The emergency alarm float is also a redundant control for your pump or valve.
The audio buzzer has a silence button that with a 30 minute snooze alarm if desired so the alarm won’t be forgotten.
INSTALLATION
The LC3 Pump Controller has an electronics box that mounts on the wall. The adjustable level probes are quickly installed and working by adjusting the depth of the high and low float with the thumb screws. There is at least 6 inches of adjustability in each pipe.
The standard communications cable length is 10 ft.
To connect your pump or solenoid, it comes with a convenient piggyback plug so you can simply plug in your pump directly. Alternatively, we can supply a solenoid valve already wired to the level controller as an option.
MODELS
Polypropylene Float switch models (LC3-PF) has stacked floats. If possible we try to use a single float pipe with 3
floats on it. This is great for replacing evaporation losses since the upper and lower float switch are just 1 inch apart. The emergency alarm float is typically 2 inches higher to accommodate liquid displacement in the tank.
If the spacing between upper and lower floats must be more than 5 inches, then we use 2 pipes to space the floats apart.
Kynar models use capacitance sensors (LC3-KC) and do not have stacked floats like the polypropylene, but rather, one sensor in each PVDF pipe. Each LC3 comes with two sensors. (one for high and one for low. A flat PVC plate mount is standard.

The “high level” float pipe is 8 inches by default. The depth of the low pipe is specified in the part number as in the chart below. If you need a different “high level” length, simply leave a note in product notes field when ordering.
