The LC3 Level Controller will automatically cycle your pump to keep your tank filled, or empty if that’s how you set it. In tank-filling mode, when the liquid level drops to the bottom float switch, the LC-2 Pump Controller turns on your pump to fill the tank. When the liquid level rises to the high level float, the LC3 shuts off your pump. The cycle repeats automatically as needed to properly maintain your liquid level.
To switch between to pump-down mode, simply remove a circuit board jumper.
EMERGENCY LEVEL ALARMS INCLUDED
If there is a problem that causes the liquid level to rise above the high level-control float, or fall below the low-control float, extra “emergency” floats causes an alarm. This alarm is given with a flashing LED and loud warbling buzzer that can be heard through any industrial plant noise. The emergency alarm float is also a redundant relay shutoff.
The audio buzzer has a silence button that with a 30 minute snooze alarm if desired so the alarm won’t be forgotten.
The LC3 Pump Controller has an electronics box that mounts on the wall. The adjustable level probes are quickly installed and working by adjusting the depth of the high and low float with the thumb screws. There is at least 6 inches of adjustability in each pipe. The standard high level pipe is 8 inches long. The low level float pipe is selectable in 10 inch increments. The standard communications cable length is 10 ft.
To connect your pump or solenoid, it comes with a convenient piggyback plug so you can simply plug in your pump directly. Alternatively, we can supply a solenoid valve already wired to the level controller as an option.
Polypropylene models (LC3-PP) have stacked floats spaced 1 inch apart. Therefore there are two pipes containing a total of 4 floats.
The default working depth of the high float is 8 inches. The “emergency high alarm” float is 1 inch above this. The low float depth is specified in part number. (for example LC3-PP-40 has a 40 inch depth. The “Emergency low alarm” float is 1 inch below this. There are two pipes total and these can fit in a 2″ fitting, or a flat plate. (specify when ordering)
Kynar models use capacitance sensors (LC3-KC) and do not have stacked floats like the polypropylene, but rather, one sensor in each PVDF pipe. Each LC3 comes with three sensors. (one for high and one for low, and an “emergency” high alarm. (or can easily be switched to emergency low level alarm) Because there are three pipes that won’t fit into a 2″ tank fitting, a flat PVC plate mount is standard.
