The COMPACT POPPET STYLE CHECK VALVE fits into drum alarms to serve as a foot valve to prevent backflow.

For pumps that are difficult to prime like diaphragm pumps, it eliminates having to re-prime the pump when the Drumalarm is withdrawn from the working drum.  Also prevents the volume of the suction pipe from backwashing into the drum, regardless of the type of pump used.

If you order a check valve along with a drumalarm, we assume you want it installed. (there are q few parts in the assembly as you can see from the exploded assembly picture on this page)  If you are retro-fitting on an existing unit, you should know that all our drumalarms, IBC alarms and suction pipes are pre-machined to accept this check valve.

Chemical compatibility information for Viton.

INSTALLATION

The check valve inserts into any drum alarm by unscrewing the screen fitting and inserting the poppet valve, special fitting, and o-ring.  See this video for details on installing a check valve on an existing drumalarm.

SCREEN

The suction pipes include a 14 mesh screen. (roughly equivalent to 1400 microns) see chart
